Job Title: Strategic Finance Manager
Location: Westminster, London
Contract Type: 3-Month Contract
Pay: £504/day (Hybrid Working)
Role Overview: As the Strategic Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership to our Housing and Planning finance team, overseeing both capital and revenue setting and monitoring. You will play a pivotal role in delivering medium-term financial plan, ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines for the publication and auditing of our annual accounts, and managing the group accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance to drive change across the Finance Leadership Team, aligning with our Fairer Westminster commitments.
- Develop and deliver a new service offer to key stakeholders, measuring feedback regularly to ensure effectiveness.
- Act as an active ambassador for the Council's Diversity and Inclusion ambitions.
- Future-proof the finance team by facilitating skill acquisition and knowledge sharing among team members.
- Provide leadership that empowers staff to recognise their contribution to the Council's strategic objectives.
- Foster a high-performance culture through internal service reviews aimed at improving value for money and efficiency.
- Lead and motivate staff through coaching, mentoring, training, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in strategic financial management, ideally within a public sector or local authority setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and inspire teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing environments and lead teams through transition.
- Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
