Assessment Social Worker - Sedgemoor
Somerset County Council have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join our Assessment team in Sedgemoor. You will be completing the Child and Family Assessments with families who have just been referred to Children's Social Care, and working with the family until they are either stepped down to alternative services, or transfer to our Safeguarding teams to be supported for longer.
About us…
You will be working in a team which is predominantly permanently staffed: locum cover is needed due to a member of staff being on maternity leave. Sedgemoor Assessment is made up of two teams who work closely alongside each other and function as one in order to cover duty work, respond to urgent situations, and share practice expertise. Our Safeguarding teams use the Family Safeguarding model, and the adult-focussed practitioners working in those teams are available for advice and support to Assessment workers as well.

What we're looking for…
You will be passionate about relationship-based social work, proud of your profession, and able to reflect and think creatively about how you can build relationships to make a difference to children and families. You will need to be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England and have substantial experience working with children and families in social work.
