AKTON Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and we are looking for a Social Worker in the Barnsley area. Person will need to be able to start ASAP.
An experienced social worker is required on a short-term basis (4-8 weeks) to cover sickness. The role will require the social worker to support and develop positive solutions for a caseload of children who are, or at risk of being homeless.
Working as part of a wider contextual safeguarding and edge of care team, the worker will need practice experience of edge-of-care work, and ideally have some knowledge of housing and other related practice areas.
The candidate will need to be skilled in building relationships with adolescent children, be dynamic and flexible in their approach and be able to problem-solve in order to ensure children are diverted from homelessness.
You will be required to work across Barnsley and potentially into neighbouring areas and must be able to work evenings as and when required. Therefore, a flexible management of hours is crucial to this role.
