AKTON Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and Tower Hamlets is looking for a Senior Youth Worker (35 Hours Per Week).
This role will involve leading and line managing a team of Youth Sports Coaches and working with a diverse range of young people across several settings throughout the borough including community sports clubs, schools and youth centres providing a high-quality sports coaching offer to young people with varying abilities, skills and needs.
This role will have oversight of developing and delivering an engaging sport-based youth work curriculum you will ensure that more young people in Tower Hamlets realise the benefits of taking part in sport and physical activity as part of their development and outcomes. It is essential that you have a relevant sports coach related qualification(s) as well as recent experience of working with young people and stakeholders as part of delivering a diverse range of sports-based activities. Sports is highlighted as a priority area for the Council which include hockey, basketball, athletics, girls football, athletics and cricket.
We are looking for one Senior Youth Worker who is experienced and qualified to lead the staff delivering sports activities. These roles will report into the Group Manager for Sports and Physical Activities within Young Tower Hamlets division.
The working hours will range of daytime, evenings and weekends in accordance with operational needs therefore the ability and flexibility to fulfil this requirement is necessary. This is an in-person role involving direct line-management of a team and development of partnerships with local stakeholders.
