Full time position: 36/hrs a week
AKTON Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and we are looking for a Occupational Therapist in the Barnet area. 3 - 6 months contract. DBS required.
It is a full-time role, we work 1-2 days in the office, completing community visits, and working from home. I cannot consider condensed hours or part-time as the role needs to cover Monday to Thursday 9 am - 5:15 pm and Friday 9 am - 5:00 pm.
The role is with the Urgent Response Occupational Therapy Team It is (Monday to Friday) 36 hours - the office is in the Colindale NW9) The team completes urgent Occupational Therapy assessments covering the whole of the Barnet borough, extensive manual handling experience is required and will include 1 day of OT Duty. A car driver is essential and lives near the Barnet area. Team Manager and Lead Practitioner provide good support, we are a small team that works well together in providing an urgent response service.
Qualification:
- Recognised qualification as an Occupational Therapist
- Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council
Experience
- Relevant experience of operating effectively in an Occupational Therapy role
- Understanding and experience of operating with a comprehensive assessment framework including self assessment.
- Experience of undertaking moving and handling assessments and demonstrating the use of equipment including professional advice and support
- Experience of providing specialist equipment and major adaptations
- Experience of preparing clear and accurate correspondence, reports and other written documentation
