Job Description for Mechanical Engineer:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be an integral part of a dynamic maintenance team dedicated to upholding the highest standards of service within the our large Salford based facility.
Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, repairs, testing, and inspection of building and mechanical services according to relevant standards and procedures.
- Provide cover for absent colleagues to maintain uninterrupted service delivery.
- Adhere to safe working practices outlined by the Company guidelines.
- Conduct maintenance, service, and repair tasks across various building services.
- Demonstrate awareness of operational procedures and safe practices related to major plant and systems.
- Maintain accurate records and complete service reports, providing regular progress updates to management.
- Assist in minor upgrading and adaptation works as required.
- Collaborate with other skilled trades to facilitate maintenance, repairs, testing, and installation activities.
- Undertake training to enhance and maintain skills in line with service requirements.
- Act as a Competent or Authorised Person as directed and appointed.
- Liaise and undertake duties at other healthcare projects as assigned.
- Be available for overtime as needed to ensure service continuity.
- Perform any other duties as required, commensurate with grade.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified time-served engineer with a minimum of 3 years post-apprenticeship experience.
- Healthcare experience is desirable but not essential; cross-trade experience is advantageous.
- Excellent understanding of maintenance practices and procedures.
- Ability to lead and manage a small shift team effectively.
- Strong technical skills across various building services.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to guidelines.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
