Lead for Practice Development and Assurance

AKTON Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and we are looking for a Lead for Practice Development and Assurance in the Haringey area. 3 - 6 months contract.

Role Purpose
To be responsible for CQC compliance work as instructed by the Service Manager. This will include oversight of two senior practitioners who will work across services areas to ensure that the 50 identified residents for any upcoming inspection have been robustly quality assured, and improvements actioned by the relevant service. The role will also work with the wider team to ensure policy, strategies and frameworks are in place and prepare teams/practitioners engagement with the CQC inspectors.

Main Responsibilities
1. Work with the Principal Social Worker and service manager to further develop and embed the Strengths-Based Practice model across all areas of adult social services.
2. Have a key role in ensuring CQC compliance across all service areas working directly with managers, practitioners and partners to improve practice, processes and interventions.
3. Be responsible for developing and assessing ASYE social workers across all service areas.
4. Provide ongoing support to Social Work Officers and those undertaking Social Work and Occupational Therapy apprenticeships.
5. Lead on case discussions, social care forums and workshops where required.
6. Work with commissioners and providers to embed strengths-based and outcomes focused practice into their delivery models.
7. Contribute to audit processes, identifying areas of development and working with managers and teams in developing the right skills and knowledge to improve quality of practice.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Experience of supervising and supporting staff including performance management and staff development to deliver high quality results
  • Experience which demonstrates confidence and understanding of the policy and statutory framework
  • Knowledge and understanding of evaluating development for organisational effectiveness
  • To design and deliver workshops to a range of social care practitioners
  • Qualified Practice Educator
