AKTON Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and we are looking for a Care Assessor in the Havering area. 3 - 6 months contract. An enhanced DBS will be required for this role. Car driver preferred.

Havering Access Team is a front door (fast paced) service which accepts and receives referrals on a daily basis. The team manages urgent or immediate as well as short-term referrals.

The team is a multi-disciplinary team which includes senior staff, contact workers (who takes the referrals); Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants, care assessors, social workers.
The service provides support all over Havering and staff are expected to work across the borough.

Varied case load - Referrals come into HAT on a daily basis and staff are expected to receive cases/referrals every day and attend visits on the same day of the referral.
Staff are on rota in the office about x2 a week and are required to complete daily visits every day

Complexity of cases varies depending on nature of referrals
Cases may include: welfare visits, Care Act assessments, scheduled/unscheduled reviews
Mental Capacity Act, family dynamics/hoarders/ No recourse to Public funds, Multidisciplinary Team Working with clients with various dependencies

1. . Knowledge of social care practice and legislations (e.g. Care Act 2014, Equality legislations, Mental health Act, safeguarding and making safeguarding personal, GDPR and Data Protection policies
2. . Good communication/assessment and written skills
3. . Ability to prioritise case load and ability to work in a fast paced team
4. . Experience ( preferable but not essential) of using social care database (Liquid Logic)
5. . Car driver preferred

Experience working in Adult social services
