We're looking for a suitable Residential Support worker to assist in providing a stimulating environment which gives care, control and nurture appropriate to safeguarding and promoting the emotional and physical wellbeing of the young people resident at Olive House Children's home.

Main responsibilities:
1. To assist in the provision of a stable and nurturing environment to promote and safeguard the young people's welfare and promote their health and development, taking account of their culture, race, religion, disability, gender and sexual orientation.

2. To set appropriate boundaries and provide the level of supervision necessary to ensure that the young people are protected, and their welfare promoted.

3. To undertake specific tasks to develop a partnership with families, other carers, professionals and agencies, to contribute to the care plan for each young person.

4. To support young people in making measurable progress towards achieving their educational goals and learning potential through; creating an aspirational and supportive learning environment; close working with educational providers and creatively overcoming the barriers to learning that each individual child may face.

5. To ensure that children take part in and benefit from a variety of activities, both inside and outside the home, that meet their needs and develop and reflect their creative, intellectual, physical and social interests and skills.

6. To maintain knowledge of the Children Act 1989, the revised Children's Home Regulations 2015, and the Quality Care Standards.

7. To record in writing in the Log Book, and report verbally when appropriate, to the Centre Manager, or other senior member of staff, any significant events concerning the welfare of the young people.


Qualifications
Essential:
* Qualification in NVQ Level 3 CYP
* CWFD level 3
* Experience in residential child care
