Design Level Structural Engineer

Location: Leeds
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Hours: 36.5 hrs per week - flexible start and finish times and opportunities to work flexibly

We are looking for a talented and experienced Design Level Structural Engineer to join our Leeds Studio, to work within a team of collaborative and helpful engineers.

About the Structural Engineer role:

You will be contributing to the delivery of a variety of interesting, inspiring and challenging building projects throughout the UK, across a range of sectors including residential, education and commercial development and regeneration. You will have the opportunity to work alongside industry experts and high profile private and public-sector clients and collaborators.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

Technical:

* Engineering design and analysis
* Assessing problems using qualitative and quantitative measures
* Contributing to high quality written reports on a range of projects
* Preparation, presentation and self-checking of technical data and drawings
* Use of industry standard analysis software
* Preparation for and participation in Internal Reviews
* Compliance with the duties of Designer under the CDM Regulations 2015
* Compliance with the practice QMS, including self-checking

Managerial:

* Understanding the project in order to deliver outputs required, deadlines, liaising with the project team, feeding any matters arising back to senior team
* Briefing Technicians and Graduates in the production of drawings and models
* Telephone and email contact with clients and collaborators
* Attending site and project team meetings under the direction of a Senior Engineer/Associate
* Working effectively in a team
* Buddying junior members of the team
* Contributing to writing bids and fee proposals

The Structural Engineer Candidate:

A team player, you will have a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience working in a similar structural role in a design led engineering consultancy.

You'll have the opportunity to build on your existing experience of timber, RC, and steel frame design.
