Akton are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our client in Portsmouth. This position is required to enable the delivery of Lifecycle planned projects, contractual small works and variations to PHT & THC. Recruitment of this position is vital to manage projects professionally & safely whilst generating income for the client.
Reporting directly to Head of Projects, responsible for managing and executing a variety of projects across the QAH contract including Lifecycle Planned Projects, Variations and Small Works, showing at all times a strong methodical approach to project management with a good knowledge and understanding of CDM.
Working on Projects from inception to completion (suggesting, specifying and assisting design solutions, producing pricing and proposal, liaising with client and taking orders for project and ensuring delivery of project via the companies' employees and subcontractors.
Ensuring project milestones and objectives are achieved and projects delivered on time within budget. Accountable day-to-day to the Head of Projects, client, and indirectly for sub-contractors plus financial responsibility for the delivery of Projects.

Qualifications and Required Experience:
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Project Management or a senior technical management role in Facilities/Hard FM marketplace, a background in Healthcare is highly desirable.
* PD (Principal Designer) and/or PC (Principal Contractor) Experience.
* Electrical, Mechanical & Construction background essential.
* NEBOSH/IOSH or a health & safety qualification with a strong engineering knowledge
* A thorough knowledge of all aspects of Project management.
* Excellent communication skills, to include pro-active communication with staff, peers and stakeholders.
* Proven ability to handle multiple project assignments.
* Commercially aware, reliable and IT literate with skills covering MS Project, Word and Excel.
* Experience of working in a Healthcare environment and an in-depth knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical engineering with excellent attention to detail.
* B & CE (building & civil engineering) experience desirable.
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
* Ideally Project Management Qualification held or equivalent suitable experience.
* MCIOB/MIET/IOSH/NEBOSH/APM qualified Project Manager.
