Akton are recruiting a Senior Landscape Architect Planner on behalf of our client, based in Cambridge. Our client is involved in some of the UK's most exciting development projects. These can range from large scale developments to urban renovation. Our successful candidate will have a special blend of skills combining landscape architecture with assessment and green infrastructure planning to join their talented and motivated team. You will be keen to develop in both technical and professional areas, and we will support you in this endeavour.

In this role, you can expect to enjoy a challenging and varied role. Typically dividing your time between authoring and providing input to a range of studies, assessments, technical documents, site work, and creative collaboration as part of their exciting team culture. Ideally, you will share their passion for context-led design and will be expected to apply your understanding of landscape to a range of social and environmental drivers to achieving well planned and designed developments at all scales - from new public realm to nationally significant infrastructure.

It is desirable to have two to four years' experience working in a consultancy and be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of landscape planning work including LVIA, Landscape assessment and capacity studies
  • An interest in context led green infrastructure and environmental design and management
  • Good written skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact comfortably with people at all levels and across multiple disciplines

A knowledge of and demonstrable abilities in GIS, graphics software and/or AutoCAD is desirable but not essential.

This is a full-time Permanent position, however, flexibly and job share/part-time arrangements may be accommodated.
