The Job
To support the Principal Landscape Architect in the delivery and management of projects in the Landscape Design team.

Team worker:

Participate as a Senior member of the team supporting colleagues and working collaboratively to develop the business
Support the Principal Landscape Architect and the Directors, linking effectively and proactively with other teams
Work flexibly to support delivery across the service
Take ownership for own personal development
Play a key part in the project and studio management
Lead and manage all aspects of Landscape Design for a project, delegating responsibility for tasks throughout the Landscape team

Customer service:

Liaise professionally with current and potential clients
Work collaboratively with other professionals within the company and also with third party consultants/contractors/suppliers
Provide an efficient and business-like point of contact when responding to internal and external enquiries

Business delivery:

Proactively seek to improve the Landscape studios' design processes.
Actively contribute to conversations with clients over landscape design matters
Ensure projects are completed on budget and to schedule, overseeing and resolving any issues that may arise
Take full responsibility for allocated project work
Preparing and managing scheme designs and specifications for the completion of projects
Prepare and present feasibility reports and high-quality design proposals to the client
Cultivate new business clients and retain existing clients
Work around constraining factors such as planning legislation, building regulations, environmental impact and project budget
Prepare applications for planning
Produce BIM compliant working drawings and specifications
Choose materials to be used and the requirements for the project, based on site and environmental criteria
React and resolve issues which arise during the pre-design/design construction/post-construction stages of a project

Communicate effectively:

Knowledge of the complaints handling procedure

BIM roles and responsibilities:

Ensuring Asset Information requirements and/or MIDP requirements are set out in the Employers Information Requirements and livered on a BIM project
Enable reliable information exchange through a common data environment
Enable integration and co-ordination of information within the information model
Configure information for project outputs
Assure delivery of information exchanges
Confirm supplier's ability to deliver information requirements
Co-ordinated delivery of all design information
Manage information development and information approvals
Confirm Design Deliverables
Overall Lead for configuration management
Production of design outputs related to a discipline-specific, package-based or time-based task
Direct the production of task information in compliance with standards and methods, and using agreed systems
Manage spatial co-ordination on behalf of task team
Propose resolutions to co-ordination clashes
Accept reject information exchanges within the common data environment

What you need to know:

Post-graduate degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent
Have 5+ years of professional experience as a Landscape Architect
Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute
Good design and drawing skills
A keen interest in the environment
Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals
An understanding of the relationship between people, buildings and the wider environment
Microsoft Office proficiency
CAD proficiency
