Senior Cad Technician

Job Role
To support the design and specification of Building Services for the company and lead a team of CAD Technicians.

Team worker:

Participate as a Senior member of the team, supporting colleagues working collaboratively to develop the business
Oversee a team of CAD Technicians
Work flexibly to support delivery across the service

Customer service:

Work collaboratively with other professionals and also with contractors and suppliers

Business delivery:

Produce high quality and accurate design drawings relevant to electrical and mechanical disciplines
Maintain and prioritise workload based on cost, quality or timescales
Maintain drawing libraries and associated document management processes and procedures
Working around constraining factors such as planning legislation, building regulations, environmental impact and project budget
Prepare applications for planning and building control
Choose materials to be used and the requirements for a project based on site and environmental data

BIM roles and responsibilities:

Ensuring Asset Information requirements and/or MIDP requirements set out in the Employers Information Requirements are delivered on a BIM project.
Enable reliable information exchange through a common data environment
Overall lead for configuration management and project outputs
Populate the information exchange format for the information model
Production of design outputs related to a discipline specific, package-based or time-based task
Undertake clash detection process and liaise with design team
Produce BIM compliant working drawings and specifications
Direct the production of task information in compliance with standards and methods
Assure delivery of information exchanges
Coordinated delivery of all design information
Enable integration and co-ordination of information within information model
Manage information development and information approvals
Confirm Design Deliverables
Direct the production of task information in compliance with standards and methods.
Direct the production of task information using agreed systems.
Propose resolutions to co-ordination clashes
Accept / reject information exchanges within the common data Environment
Oversee team to ensure compliance of their job responsibilities

Service delivered within budget and to agreed targets

It's essential you have:

CAD experience within a Building Services context
Proficiency in the use Archicad, AutoCAD, IES or similar CAD modelling software to a BIM L2 standard
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
The ability to create neat and accurate technical drawings
Good standard of literacy and numeracy
A professional, friendly and honest attitude, building good relationships with colleagues
Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver clear and accurate information
A team worker and customer focus - You work collaboratively with your team to achieve better outcomes for customers
Initiative - you come up with ways of improving how we do things
