Risk and Issues Lead PMO Specialist- Met Office
£400/day

As a member of the Supercomputing 2020+ Programme Office team, you will be responsible for contributing to and aid the delivery of many aspects of the Programme support, particularly RAID management (Risk, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies). This will include developing, maintaining, collating and reporting on appropriate metrics to the Programme Office, Programme Manager, Senior Responsible Owner and Sponsoring Group of the Met Office Supercomputing 2020+ Programme.

4. Job Responsibilities
1. Lead the risk & Issues management function for the Supercomputing Programme, working pro-actively with the Programme/Project Managers to identify & record internal & external Risks emerging from dependent teams.
2. Develop, maintain, monitor and report of/on a robust RAID processes and registers that clearly records adaptation and mitigation actions required to ensure delivery of the programme benefits, escalating issues where necessary.
3. To build relationships and communicate with all stakeholders of the Programme to ensure that all RAID activity is focused on achievement of the business benefits/case.
4. Maintain, collate and report on relevant metrics to provide Senior Management with a consistent, clear view of RAID activities to enable informed decision making.
5. As required by the Programme office, Co-ordinate meetings agendas, actions and reporting, on behalf of the programme and all arrangements associated with Programme Boards.
6. Provide support to other functions within the Supercomputer Programme office including Sequencing and Scheduling, Benefits, Business Change and Governance.



PERSON SPECIFICATION

1. Essential Criteria

1. Significant experience in a specialist risk and issues management role in a PMO for a large complex technology programme.
2. Excellent understanding and demonstrable proactive management of risk and issues. Providing necessary management information for decision making.
3. Proven track record of supporting or leading projects, or similar activities to deliver successful outcomes, with a strong focus on delivering to time, cost and quality. Underpinned by excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to successfully influence customers and colleagues across all areas of the Met Office.
4. Experience of working in Agile, hybrid, and waterfall project/programme delivery environments, with varying levels of maturity.
5. Must demonstrate strong evidence of their ability to "drive for delivery" through excellent communication skills that emphasise both clarity and engagement and show a proven ability to work well as a member of a team.
6. Adept at presenting insights and trends in a variety of formats and levels of detail to suit different audience requirements.
7. Excellent planning and organisational skills, demonstrating the ability to prioritise and manage simultaneous tasks whilst ensuring clear analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Experience in using and developing SharePoint, MS Power Apps and PowerBI to capture and present data for a variety of audiences.
