Akton Resourcing are currently working with the Local Authorities to fill an ongoing contract position for a Children’s Residential Support Worker. This role is on an ongoing contract and is for full time hours covering a variety of early shifts, late shifts and sleep ins or waking nights if required.

We are seeking to appoint suitably skilled, motivated and a caring residential worker, to work with children and young people in a number of Local Authority run childrens homes within Kirklees. Ideally you will hold a NVQ3 / Diploma in caring for children and young people. Effective Induction, supervision will be provided. The work involves shift patterns; including weekends, sleep in, and Bank Holidays. The homes look after young people between the ages of thirteen and seventeen, and offer a variety of opportunities to all young people, promoting their development within a caring understanding and supportive environment. You should be committed to improving the life chances of the children and young people. The homes and behaviours displayed can be intense at times, it is important that applicants have strong emotional resilience and are prepared to work with complex young people who have suffered from trauma and abuse in the past. Ideally you will hold a driving license and have use of your own car with appropriate insurance for when the homes car is already in use. A full DBS check is required for this role.
