This construction company has been operating for 30 years, across three successful divisions: mixed use development, property management, and construction and an award winning, leading provider of innovative, high quality student accommodation across the UK and Scotland.
 
Due to an expansion in workload they are seeking an experienced QS to work as part of the busy commercial team supporting several impressive new London schemes. One of these being a large mixed-use scheme set across 2 multi-storey buildings and includes a café, roof terrace and multi-use games room. One of the other schemes is a smaller £35m student accommodation project situated in the heart of the historic Lambeth Palace Conservation Area.
 
The role
You will be working within our Construction Team, in your role as QS your main tasks in the job will focus around Cost Reporting, Risk Management, Sub-Contract Accounts, Client Accounts, Estimating and providing support to the Commercial Manager. In this role some key skills are essential, strong communication, negotiation and relationship building skills.
It would be expected that you can display a successful track record as a Quantity Surveyor with general construction experience. The ideal candidate will have experience on New Build and Refurb, Commercial and Residential.
 
Ideally you will have;
  • The relevant qualifications e.g. degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, ONC and HNC level.
  • Working knowledge of the construction industry, commercial and procurement processes and procedures
  • Experience within a similar role
  • Strong people skills
  • To be able to work as part of a team
  • Good communication and delegation skills
