I am currently looking for a Press Tool Manager to manage all elements of press tooling, including jigs, fixtures and manufacturing gauges across the company
Whilst controlling costs within this area you will ensure tools are available to meet the production requirements, supporting the continuous development of product and processes and initiatives within this department
Your key duties will include you: -
  • To be involved in the feasibility and enquiry process identifying and specifying tooling sub-contractors, defining the tool operation sequence together with any / all jigs, fixture and manufacturing gauge requirements
  • To provide technical support and advice on cost estimates
  • To negotiate on items of tooling, jigs, fixtures and manufacturing gauges
  • To agree and monitor press tool introduction timing and build quality
  • To support New Project Introduction within the press tooling area of manufacturing
  • To develop and implement preventative plans within the maintenance of press tooling, jigs and fixtures
  • To identify tool improvements and where authorised implement them
  • You will have responsibility for the introduction, repair and refurbishment of all press tooling, jigs and fixtures within the business
  • To ensure that the products conform to dimensional requirements
  • To ensure support to the manufacturing area for the introduction of component visual standards
  • To prepare and introduce a tooling manual allowing outside sub-contract toolmaking companies to understand the requirements of our business
It is imperative you have continued experience within the automotive component sector supplying into OEM & tier companies, whilst demonstrating the ability to maintain and improve existing work practices and procedures - including Environmental (ISO14001) & Quality (TS16949) systems together with customers specifics
