The Ofsted Registered Manager will provide a warm, safe, homely environment for children to live or stay, that will be fully compliant with the Children's home regulations 2015 and the Children's Act 2004 and will ensure that children are given the highest levels of support to aim high and achieve their goals.


Main Roles
? Demonstrate understanding of the Council's Customer Care Standards and ensure that these standards are met in order to deliver the Council vision of 'putting our residents first'.
? Maintain awareness of other resources and facilities throughout the borough developing links with other agencies, departments and establishments with a view to maximising opportunities for services users.
? Develop and maintain useful and appropriate communication with service users, families and carers by encouraging their interest and participation in the service.
? Responsible for the selection, development and performance of the Children's Home staff team in line with the Council's HR policies.
? Responsible for the efficient management of day to day operation of the services including the management of the buildings and all facilities.

Qualifications

? Diploma in Social Work, or any other Health or Social Care related field
? Recognised social work qualification (e.g. DipSW / CQSW)
? NVQ 4 registered Managers award,
? Certificate in Management studies (CMS), or Diploma in Management/Business studies (DMS / NVQ4)
? Hold Registered Manager status through registration with Ofsted

Experience

? A minimum of 5 years experience in childcare social work, including at least 2 years in residential childcare setting.
? A proven track record in Management of a Children's service, including the line management of a childcare team.
? Evidence of success in the management of people to achieve high levels of performance and behaviour, managing attendance and performance where this is not satisfactory and providing positive opportunities for those who excel
? Evidence of managing complex budgets and external funding,n an understanding of forecasting spend and understanding the use of staffing resources appropriately and ensuring that the appropriate level of budget and funding is in place where necessary.

? 32 Hours a week
? Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business including evenings, weekend and out of hours working
