Neighbourhood Client Officer

The Neighbourhood Client Officer role is a new position required as a consequence of the externalisation of the full range of front line environmental services. It is a specialist role requiring technical expertise across different functional disciplines as well as experience of overseeing complex contracts and ensuring they deliver, where a uniform "one size fits all" is not always possible to achieve. They will have full responsibility for the services in a geographical area (about one third) of the borough, being the principle point of contact with contractors, partners, members and local communities.


1. MAIN PURPOSE:

1. To act as client officer for a range of environmental services, requiring technical knowledge and experience of such services comprising street cleansing, waste collection winter maintenance, parks and open spaces maintenance, cemeteries maintenance and administration, pitch bookings and highway verge maintenance ( Phase C Lots 1 and 2).


2. To be responsible for contract monitoring and performance management for outsourced environmental services within a neighbourhood of the Borough, representing approximately one third of the Borough. This will involve using initiative to ensure excellence in service delivery.
