Job Role
To specify and design electrical building services and to manage compliance and quality of installations.

Customer service:

Provide an efficient and business-like point of contact. This includes responding to internal and external enquiries and (via face to face, telephone, email)
Liaising with clients and developing the relevant aspects of client briefs
Work collaboratively with other professionals within the Practice and also with Contractors/Suppliers
Create a positive and professional first impression of the company
Deal with all contacts professionally

Business delivery:

The full design and specification of compliant electrical building services including power distribution, lighting, alarm, data/telecommunications, telemetry systems
Lighting design using industry standard software and methods
Producing industry standard tender packages, undertaking analysis of tenders, monitoring and management of cost, quality and timescales
Undertake site surveys, site visits and associated inspections according to standard project/industry procedures or as the project requires

BIM roles and responsibilities:

Enable integration and coordination of information within the information model
Maintain and receive information into the information model
Configure information for project outputs
Populate the information exchange format for the information model
Assure delivery of information exchanges
Confirm supplier's ability to deliver information requirements
Co-ordinated delivery of all design information
Manage information development and information approvals
Confirm Design Deliverables
Overall Lead for configuration management
Production of design outputs related to a discipline specific, package-based or time-based task
Direct the production of task information in compliance with standards and methods
Direct the production of task information using agreed systems
Manage spatial co-ordination on behalf of task team
Accept reject information exchanges within the common data environment
Propose resolutions to co-ordination clashes

What you will need to know:

You will hold at least five years' experience working in consultancy practice or for a large contractor in a design capacity.
Up to date knowledge of relevant Building Regulations and standards for electrical installations.
HNC/HND in a relevant discipline.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Good standard of literacy and numeracy.
Able to work effectively under pressure.
