Akton Recruitment has an exciting opportunity come available in the Liverpool area for a High Needs Support Officer

Main Roles
* To support the processing of High Needs funding applications including assisting in the monitoring and reviewing of support provided by Education Establishments
* To support education establishments in meeting the needs of High Needs pupils as part of the Early Intervention approach
* To support settings to build the appropriate infrastructure and develop effective pupil interventions for children/young people with SEND by utilising their SEN resources most effectively.
* To support settings to access all relevant support services and utilise available funding ensuring that all existing SEN resources are exhausted before requests for 'Top Up' funding are made to the Local Authority.
* To ensure that the application process for 'Top-Up' funding is understood and followed by settings and any other relevant multi-agency professionals.

Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications in literacy and numeracy (GCSE A-C or equivalent) *
* Evidence of current and continuous professional development
* An appropriate qualification in ICT, for example EDCL
* Knowledge and experience of key legislation and policy in relation to supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities including High Needs Funding and schools/college funding frameworks and the SEND Code of Practice 0-25 years*

Experience
* Recent experience of working within an educational or social care environment *
* Experience of working with education establishments and settings
* Experience of working as part of a team as well being able to work on your own using your initiative*
* Experience in the use of all aspects of IT including Microsoft Office including the ability to create complex spreadsheets using Excel and devise and deliver presentations using PowerPoint*
* Experience in dealing with sensitive, contentious, and complex queries, ensuring highest quality standards in terms of professional practice and maintaining confidentiality*
* Experience in the use of financial systems
The role will be mainly working at home. The first few days may be working in the office due to setting up home working and training after that we will be operating a mix of office and home working with mainly home working at the minute and gradual back in the office but with odd days to start then a max of 2/3 days in the office.
