Akton Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Finance Assistant to join the Redbridge council in the department of Adult Social Services, Public Health & Wellbeing Cluster.

Job role: Finance Officer


To support Team Leader in the efficient and effective provision of a comprehensive client Court of Protection and Appointee ship function for Adult's Services, including all aspects of Appointee ships and assistance as when required on Court of Protection Deputyship,

The Post holder will manage a case load of appointee ship cases and be responsible for the service user's financial affairs.

The post holder will support The Team Leader and Head of Safeguarding.

Fundamental to fulfilling the responsibilities of this post is the ability to respond flexibly, positively, and successfully to the ever-changing pressures which local authorities face. This Job Description is a guide to the level and range of responsibilities the postholder will be expected to undertake initially. Key Responsibility:

Conduct and Whistleblowing

This will involve:

§ Complying with the requirements of the Code of Conduct and maintaining high standards of personal conduct, honesty, and integrity. You have a duty to raise any impropriety or breach of procedure to the appropriate level of management. Employees making such disclosures (whistleblowing) are protected and may make them without fear of recrimination.

Safer Working

This will involve:

§ Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Where you work in such a post the Council will require a CRB Disclosure check and references will be taken up prior to interview.


This will involve:

You are expected to understand, comply with and promote Council policies in your work, to undertaken any appropriate training and to challenge any prejudice and discrimination.

This will involve:

§ Being responsible for your own Health & Safety, as well as that of colleagues, service users and the public. Employees should co-operate with management, follow established systems of work, use protective equipment where necessary and report defectives and hazards to management.
