We're looking for a suitable Family Support worker to provide effective support for children, young people, and their families directly as a family support worker within the Localities Service Role involves working with the Whole Family to ensure good outcomes for all.

Main responsibilities:
1. Participate in the evaluation of children and young people's needs in their community, and be proactive in developing and delivering appropriate, timely SMART Outcome Based Plans to ensure that their needs are satisfied throughout the intervention.

2. give professional experience utilising evidence-based practice methods in order to maintain and enhance the Early Help and Prevention Service's efficiency and standard.

3. Collaborate with colleagues in the multidisciplinary locality-based Family and Youth Support Service to provide direct and group work activities to children and their families, according to the Local Authority Practice model to guarantee positive results for children and their families.

4. Act as a lead professional for children, young people and their families to offer advice and support to team members and to undertake joint assessments where the team managers decide.

5. Maintain professional standards and ensure that all dates are reached, such as Well-Being Assessments, Outcome-Based Plans, Team Around the Family Meetings, and any other deadlines related to child and family assistance. In addition, you must always ensure that reports are produced to a high quality.

6. Participate in the supervision, review and audit of cases as and when required.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* Clearly demonstrated ability in direct work with children, young people and families
* Experience of working with young people and their families from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
* experience of operating within an equal opportunities' framework.
* Ability to think creatively and problem solve and meet deadlines.
* Ability to mentor others and apply good standards of practice.
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within a community and to draw on the strengths of the team.
* Knowledge of different methods of family support and intervention.
* Knowledge of the statutory functions of the local authority and where Early Help and Support sits.
