Akton Recruitment are looking for an Experienced Family Worker (one to one Parenting support) to join the local authority based in Camden.

Enhanced DBS is a must
ASAP start (pending compliance passed)
Order will go on hold 11th July
Duration: 3 months (with view to extend)
The suitable candidate should have substantial experience within family work & parenting work. Please do not submit newly qualified candidates as the role really requires a candidate with significant experience.
Whilst a social work qualification is not essential, it is desirable. The main requirement is significant/substantial experience with family work, theory and assessment skills and one to one parenting experience.
Role Purpose:
- To deliver a service to vulnerable families, children and young people in Camden, including;
- delivery of assessment, planning and intervention packages to vulnerable families, children and young people;
- provide young people leaving care with support and guidance and promote independence;
- identify and overcome barriers to accessing appropriate local universal and targeted services in order to improve outcomes;
- delivery in line with Council, Directorate and Service strategies, plans and policies; in compliance with relevant legislation, as well as good practice standards set down by the local authority, to high professional standards and through the effective management of resources

Required competencies:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in working in a home visiting family support/social work service supporting vulnerable and complex families
- Significant experience of completing assessments and planning and facilitating intervention packages with families, children and young people
- Significant experience of providing 1:1 parenting work to families and direct work with children and young people to affect change
- Significant experience in supporting children of various ages and knowledge of the ages and stages of development and the issues impacting them
- Experience in the role of Lead Professional coordinating TAF meetings and of developing and leading multiagency networks to deliver interventions and support plans
- Experience of completing records and assessments to a high standard and within deadlines
- Competence in using recording systems and IT
This is a full-time contract-based role working Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00, paying a rate of £20 per hour.
