Environmental Health Officer

Akton Recruitment has a vacancy for an Environmental Health Officer

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

* Undertake routine inspections and visits to enforce relevant food hygiene, health and safety, animal welfare and infectious disease legislation.
* Investigate food poisoning cases/outbreaks, accident investigations and respond to service requests.
* Enforce food hygiene legislation in a broad range of food processing businesses including approved premises.
* Prepare notices, legal documents, witness statements, and any other correspondence required during your investigations and as and when necessary to support to the Operations Manager and the Commercial Team.
* Provide specialist advice to the planning and licensing teams and investigate complaints about nuisance from commercial premises.
* Represent the service at meetings, in court, tribunals and inquiries
* Provide information to respond to Have Your Requests and requests made under the Freedom of Information Act.
* Attend training courses to maintain your continued professional development and to maintain competence as required by Section 20 of the Health & Safety at Work etc Act and the Food Standard Agency's Food Law Code of Practice.
