Digital Experience Editor / Designer- Bedford

Role is outside of IR35.
Predominately remote working, with possible requirement to attend the office occasionally in the future.

Bedford Borough Council has ambitious plans for continued transformation into the future, so it's an exciting time to join us.

You will play a key role in helping us to develop customer friendly, easy to use digital journeys, making sure that the customer voice is at the heart of everything you do whilst helping to move customer contact and transactions to self-serve online.

Working as part of a small team and alongside service managers, you will be responsible for creating engaging, easy to follow content for the entire digital experience, from webpage content, to the journey itself and through to follow up email / SMS contact with the customer. You'll work to our journey design guidelines whilst bringing creativity and energy to the journey development process. You'll make sure that customers are involved in journey testing prior to go-live to ensure the digital experience is smooth and easy.

You will be required to work quickly but accurately within tight timescales and changing priorities.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
* Experience of Content Management Systems - able to create and publish website content.
* Able to demonstrate confidence in designing digital content tailored to meet the needs of a range of audience.
* Understand and be able to apply techniques to shift customers from using traditional methods of contact to self-serve.
* Ability to follow and apply guidelines and documented procedures and to document decisions and work to a project plan.
* Proven experience of managing multiple projects with conflicting stakeholder needs and deadlines.
* Great communication skills - you'll need to be able to share your knowledge, understanding and thinking with members of the wider team.
* Proven ability to quickly create and maintain effective working relationships through teamwork, whilst keeping the customer as the focus.
* Experience of working within - and ensuring compliance with - local government
