Design/Technical Coordinator
Greater Manchester 

I am currently working with a leading provider of partnership housing with 45 years of experience creating homes for all market sectors and sourcing land to bring to its partnership projects.  We are looking to add a Design/Techncial Coordiantor to the team to start on an inital 12 Month contract to cover maternity leave, there is then the possibility of it becoming a permanent role.

The purpose of the role is to co-ordinate the design and technical processes. Ensure it carries out its contractual responsibilities for co-ordination of construction details.  Manage flow of design information.  Manage design input of specialist subcontractor. You will be reporting into the Regeneration & Technical Manager.  You will be based out of the office in Cheshire with around a couple of site visits required a month around the North West.
Control of information flow:
  • Co-ordination of Design Team and Specialist subcontractor
  • Production and management of the Prestart Programme
  • Manage the release of design information against Prestart Programme
  • Management of design during construction process
Managing the Process:
  • Provide technical input to project appraisal/tendering processes
  • Attend Contract Launch meeting to agree accountabilities
  • Co-ordinate pre-start development process
  • Chair regular pre-start and design team meetings
  • Attend client liaison meetings throughout pre-start process
  • Process design information and maintain drawing registers
  • Provide technical advice as necessary
  • Review design and specifications for alternatives to provide added value
  • Monitor release of design information against agreed programme
  • Manage design interface between packages
  • Co-ordinate production of post-completion technical information
Serving the Customer:                                                    
  • Support Regeneration Manager when required
  • Providing technical guidance to internal customers e.g. Business Development, Operations, Commercial and Sales colleagues
  • Understand technical requirements of external customers to ensure that their reasonable expectations are satisfied
Delivering Quality:
  • Encourage identification of innovative and cost-effective solutions
  • Review design and specifications for alternatives to provide added value
We are ideally looking for candiates with around 5+ years of experience but candidates with less experience will also be considered.
