We are currently recruiting for an experience Commercial Director to lead and manage the Commercial team.

Primary Responsibilities will include:

· Work closely with the operational management teams to maximise commercial understanding, efficiency and opportunities across our business.
· Assist the business in achieving the target Gross Margin on each allocated project.
· Lead the commercial team in all pre-contract activity including tendering, procurement and sub-contracting.
· Lead the negotiations on all client contracts, with support from the Senior Management Team as required, ensuring a continued focus on creating value for customers and suppliers as well as our client.
· Ensure the Transparency of procurement and best value are key criteria of any procurement, including working with our public sector clients to ensure we meet our obligations to them.
· Hold the responsibility for the procurement strategy covering tendering, contractor selection, value improvement and performance management across the entire project portfolio.
· Lead all commercial activity post-contract including change control and valuation, progress valuations, cost reports and final accounts, ensuring compliance with Contract Schedule.
· Managing the monthly application, certification and invoicing process with clients and sub-contractors.
· Provide ongoing commercial support across the business, including the provision of a contract suite that supports our business model and provides an efficient, but low risk route to contracting with new and existing clients.
· Co-ordinate the monthly commercial project reporting cycle including responsibility for all Group reporting requirements.
· Provide bid support including contract reviews, commercial and pricing inputs and bid writing as required.

Essential Skills and Experience:

· A proven track record in senior commercial roles and demonstrable success in developing, implementing and managing effective cost and commercial management processes that can be shown to have delivered value for money suppliers and clients alike.
· A true understanding of how to deliver added value for the company, clients and suppliers alike.
· Sound understanding of construction contract terms and conditions, preferably NEC (4) and JCT.
· An in-depth experience in developing and executing energy performance contracts with both clients and suppliers. Knowledge of energy performance frameworks including Refit, ETL and the Carbon Energy Fund would be advantageous.
· The ability to influence colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers drawing on a range of skills and negotiation techniques.
