Civil Design Engineer

Our client is a successful multi-disciplinary consultancy with 12 offices throughout the UK. At the heart of the business lies a group of outstanding people. Working together with clients, we deliver solutions to challenging problems in Property & Development, Infrastructure, Energy & Climate Change and Mining & Minerals.

The Opportunity:
The Civil Engineering team in Newcastle currently have an opening for a civil engineer to join the team and assist on a wide range of projects. As an engineer, you will be based out of our city centre Newcastle upon Tyne office, however you may need to occasionally work from other offices or construction sites throughout the UK.

You will be working on a wide range of infrastructure projects carrying out design and drawing work, reporting to senior/principal engineers and directors. You will be expected to assist on a range of projects, at any stage of their development, from conception to completion, and take responsibility for the work you do.

The position and variety of work provides an excellent opportunity for career development within the civil engineering sector.

Responsibilities

The Civil Engineering team currently has a wide variety of infrastructure projects including, residential, commercial, industrial and renewable energy projects. Our work specifically relates to the civil engineering; however, you will be expected to work with other disciplines to help progress the overall project. Our projects currently include but are not limited to:

* Earthworks design and 3D modelling;
* Highways and road design;
* Drainage Design;
* Flood Risk Assessments;
* Environmental Planning;
* Site Services Provision;
* Report writing and production; and
* Project Management and Site supervision

You will be expected to develop as an engineer, through on the job learning, formal training, but also through out of work activities such as attending CPD seminars and undertaking additional reading. It is also expected that you actively progress towards chartership status with the Institute of Civil Engineers.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic civil engineer who is keen to work in an engineering consultancy environment.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 2 Years' experience in consulting engineering;
- A master's degree in civil engineering or similar;
