Business Grant Administrator

Akton Recruitment has an opening for a Business Grant Administrator in Sefton

Job Purpose

To provide administration and appraisal support for the Council's Covid-19 grant funding programmes to Sefton businesses

Main Duties until 30 July 2021


1. Process and check business grant applications in line with checklist and guidance

2. Validate information supplied by checking various systems internal and external

3. Investigate any issues or concerns arising from grant applications


4. Liaise with grant applicants to check and validate information supplied with application

5. Prepare grant applications for final inspection and appraisal by Team Leaders





Core Duties

1 Support the development and implementation of an engagement plan which details a wide variety of methods and approaches to be used by the post holder that lead to an increase in the number of businesses engaging with InvestSefton

2 Support the development and implementation of a marketing strategy, creating and contributing to marketing campaigns, using a wide variety of tools for business engagement including, marketing materials, social media, website, press releases events, newsletters, e shots, networking, cold calling



3 Act as first point of contact for all business enquires that come into InvestSefton via all sources, website, growth hub, telephone call and complete an initial 'triage' diagnostic for all enquiries.

4 Guide business through appropriate support, both internal and external and ensure all interventions are recorded and wherever possible ensure that the business takes up support available.

5 Provide property information directly to businesses and refer on to colleagues in InvestSefton team for further support.

6 Proactively obtain information from estate agents, property owners and developers for updating the available sites, commercial/industrial, offices, leisure and retail sections for business investment and expansion purposes.

7 Maintain the CRM property database to ensure all available business sites and premises are up to date; Enter all enquiry details onto the relevant CRM system and complete all relevant paperwork to ensure electronic capture of business and client information

8 Maintain an events calendar which details InvestSefton events as well as partner events. Create quarterly report on all events to measure performance and impact.

9 Support the delivery of InvestSefton business events and awareness raising sessions including, where appropriate, those arranged through city region Growth Hub approach.

10 Support the development and on-going maintenance of InvestSefton finance systems, including the monitoring of budgets, making payments and providing financial reports to colleagues, funders and partners

11 Support the implementation of agreed financial processes and maintain financial controls relating to invoices processing, budget monitoring in line with council standing orders and financial regulations and all relevant external funding criteria for InvestSefton projects.


12 Establish and maintain monitoring systems including the completion of paperwork for business diagnostics (up to 12 hours), evidence of job creation,
