Business Change Delivery Manager- Met Office

The Met Office is currently embarking on a very significant transformation underpinned by a £1.2bn investment in a new supercomputing capability. This investment is at the heart of generating benefit directly for the Met Office and for wider socio-economic benefits for the UK. As Business Change Delivery Lead you will sit within the Programmes Directorate in the Met Office. The post will be part of a team focusing on the exploitation of our world class data offering in a big data world.

We are looking for an experienced Business Change Delivery specialist to lead business change as part of a bigger £100m+ Supercomputer Exploitation Programme. The role will focus on defining and implementing an integrated Business Change Approach (across POTI - Process, Organisation, Technology and Information) and educate others (functional specialists, Business Change Leads, BCMs in integrated Business Change Approach) across the organisation.

Job Responsibilities

* Scope, define and deliver the Business Change plan across the programme
* Own the Delivery Plan for the Business Change Project
* Define and manage integrated Business Change
* Agree actions and deliverables with Project delivery team (e.g. functional specialists (across POTI - Process, Organisation, Technology and Information) and departmental Business Change Leads)

* Manage delivery of change activities across Project delivery teams
* Manage and escalate as necessary, risks, issues, blockers
* Report on progress against plan to PMO and Programme
* Educate others (functional specialists, Business Change Leads, BCMs in integrated Business Change Approach)

Essential Criteria

* Experience and knowledge of PROSCI® and change management principles, methodologies and tools.

* Experience of delivering similar large-scale business change (people and process) as part of a transformation programme.

* Demonstrable leadership qualities to drive forward change management.
* Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
* Acute business acumen and understanding of organisational priorities, issues and challenges.
* Ability to manage a range of projects and competing priorities.
* Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships at all levels in an organisation.
* Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
* Ability to anticipate risks, issues and opportunities and make suitable recommendations to enable success.

Desirable Criteria

* Experience of delivering change in both public and private sectors
* Good understanding of project, programme & portfolio management principles (e.g. PRINCE 2, MSP, MoP)

* Certified PROSCI® Practitioner
