Akton recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join the team at the Worcestershire Council.

Job Role: Business Analyst

Purpose of job:

As a Business Analyst, with a key focus on Customer Services, you will be responsible for undertaking reviews of business and IT systems to ensure processes and software deliver effective performance for Worcestershire County Council (WCC). In doing so, you will be required to deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of our Worcestershire customers. These solutions will form a key element of our Digital transformation roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage key stakeholders within all levels of the council to facilitate the 'demand management' function for the Digital Centre of Innovation team, i.e. interpreting business needs across the entire council and ensure these are enabled by the delivery teams (Digital Delivery, Applications, and Data Intelligence)

  • Review 'as-is' business and system practices of Worcestershire County Council

  • Develop project mandates and business cases

  • Develops business requirement specifications, 'to-be' business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution

  • Develops business process activity diagrams and contribute to the creation of solution mock-ups

  • Deliver 'to-be' solutions relating workflow / tasks, and enhancements

  • Lead testing and ensure issues are identified, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner

  • Lead the delivery of new solutions using a variety of cutting-edge methodologies e.g., Prince 2, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, etc.

  • Provide reports to the relevant governance channels as required, informing them of progress or issues which arise

  • Provide support to staff either line managed or seconded ensuring their continued personal and professional development as appropriate
