Building Surveyor (3 years’ experience minimum)
Salary: Circa £32,000+
Location: Leeds

The Role

We seek to appoint a dynamic and driven Building Surveyor to work on all aspects of building surveying to grow and develop skills towards a Senior BS through the following tasks;
  • Undertaking project management
  • Design specifications
  • Contract administration
  • Managing the surveying process through data collection
  • Inputting and reporting encompassing
  • Asbestos access Audits
  • Fire risk assessments and other professional and technical work

Skills
  • Extensive experience in a similar related role
  • Technical knowledge and competence
  • Knowledge of the Building Regulations and other construction and building surveying
  • Familiar with current construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos
  • A logical and practical mind
  • Experiences with contracts
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to form effective relationships with clientele
  • The ability to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Negotiation, presentation and report writing skills
  • The ability to analyse problems in order to identify solutions
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to ensure that you are adding maximum value to clients' businesses
  • The ability to take on high levels of responsibility with enthusiasm and motivation
  • Good IT skills, including computer-aided design (AUTOCAD)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications and experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a Building Surveying related discipline
  • Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain
  • Recognised DDA qualification and/or be prepared to achieve NRAC registration (desirable)
  • Previous surveying experience
  • Have Professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or be working or prepared to work towards chartered status
