Asset Review Manager- Greenwich

The Royal Borough of Greenwich has a vision to promote growth and regeneration in the borough, to provide high quality services and to tackle poverty. In doing so it seeks to secure sustainable improvements in the quality of life of residents whilst ensuring the equity of opportunity for them. It will need to do this with constrained financial resources.

The Council's large (non-housing) property portfolio has a vital role in supporting this vision due to its nature as a multi-faceted and multi-purpose resource. Property helps support services, regeneration and community well-being; whilst also consuming revenue from its operations and maintenance.

This property portfolio has a great deal of latent value within it and the first comprehensive asset review under the new Property Asset Strategy is now required to ensure it supports services better, its revenue generation is optimised and land and capital value is released to contribute towards the Council's Medium Term Financial Strategy and wider organisational objectives.

The Asset Review Manager will devise and deliver the Asset Review programme. They will be supported by a team of three and report to the Head of Property.

This role requires:

* Experience of reviewing a large multi-asset portfolio for a local authority (or similar large public sector organisation)
* Commercial property experience within the private sector is an advantage -
Will likely have 10 years+ of property experience
* Highly analytical (a data analyst will be part of their team)
* Must be able to communicate effectively - great presentation skills (both written and face to face)
* Must understand the political nature of local government and sensitivity around prominent property decisions
* Must be able to articulate a strategy for each property asset and the direction of the portfolio as a whole.
