Architectural Assistant
Ipswich
£24,000-£26,000

Job Role
To assist on all aspects of architectural design, ranging from presentations for clients to working with the construction team.

Team worker:

Participate as a member of our clients team supporting colleagues and working collaboratively to develop the business
Work flexibly to support delivery across the service
Take ownership for own personal development

Customer service:

Provide an efficient and business-like point of contact. This includes responding to internal and external enquiries and (via face-to-face, telephone, email)
Deliver a consistent and professional level of customer service at all times to Clients and other practices within the industry, and provide advice to various clients we service in both the private and public sectors

Business delivery:

Assist with the preparation and presentation of feasibility reports, mood boards and high-quality design proposals to the client
Work around constraining factors such as planning legislation, building regulations, environmental impact and project budget
Assist in the preparation of applications for planning and building control
Assist in the preparation of working drawings, details and specifications for pricing and construction issue
Help choose materials to be used and the requirements for the project, based on site and environmental criteria
React to and resolve issues which arise during the design and construction stages of a project

BIM roles and responsibilities:

Accuracy and timeliness of support

Service delivered within budget and to agreed targets

It's essential you have:

Good design and drawing skills
A keen interest in buildings and the built environment
Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals
An understanding of the relationship between people, buildings and the wider environment
Good technical construction knowledge
Microsoft Office proficiency
Excellent CAD proficiency

Communication:

Create a positive and professional first impression of our client
Deal with all contacts professionally
Communicate with all staff efficiently
Knowledge of the complaints handling procedure
