Role Overview: As an Early Years Sufficiency and Market Development Consultant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the community has sufficient childcare places to meet local demand. You will work closely with childcare providers, including childminders, schools, academies, and private settings, to support them in expanding and enhancing their provision. Your expertise will be crucial in analysing data, developing strategies, and providing guidance to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of early years childcare services across Staffordshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire detailed local knowledge of the Early Years and Childcare market.
  • Collaborate with providers to secure sufficient places to meet local demand.
  • Support providers in developing and implementing effective business plans and strategies.
  • Assist providers with promotional marketing strategies to enhance viability.
  • Review governance arrangements and recommend appropriate models.
  • Conduct sufficiency audit data collection twice yearly.
  • Analyse district and ward level data to create action plans for sufficient childcare places.
  • Provide guidance on premises suitability for Ofsted registration.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in Early Years and Childcare and/or Business.
  • Strong understanding of statutory requirements of the EYFS.
  • Experience in providing advice, guidance, and support.
  • Excellent verbal communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Clear understanding of sufficiency and market development planning.
  • Knowledge and experience of early years and childcare within a business context.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data effectively.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
  • Team player with a creative problem-solving approach.
  • Flexibility to respond to needs across the county.
  • Competent IT skills, including Excel proficiency.
